Surgical Procedures & Diagnostics
Radiology
At Lindner Animal Hospital, we understand the importance of high-quality radiographs in diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions. Our hospital is equipped with a state-of-the-art digital X-ray system, allowing us to obtain detailed images quickly and efficiently.
This advanced technology enables our doctors to make accurate diagnoses and informed treatment decisions. Our on-site digital radiology system also allows us to display clear, high-quality images for clients on our computers, helping you better understand your pet’s condition and care plan.
Laboratory Testing & Diagnostics
We offer comprehensive in-house and reference laboratory testing to support early detection, accurate diagnosis, and ongoing health management. Our diagnostic services include routine wellness bloodwork, senior screening panels, infectious disease testing, urinalysis, parasite screening, and specialized testing when more detailed evaluation is needed.
By combining advanced diagnostics with thoughtful interpretation and clear communication, we are able to create personalized treatment plans and provide proactive, informed care for your pet at every stage of life.
Dentistry
Dental health plays a vital role in your pet’s overall well-being and life expectancy. Periodontal disease is one of the most common conditions in dogs and cats and can significantly impact quality of life if left untreated.
Common signs of dental disease include bad breath (halitosis), reluctance to eat, chewing on one side of the mouth, dropping food, pawing at or rubbing the face, drooling, sensitivity around the head or mouth, and oral discomfort.
Oral bacteria and periodontal disease can also affect other organ systems, including the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, and brain.
Our dental services include professional teeth cleaning and polishing, dental radiographs, tooth extractions, and oral surgery when necessary.
Anesthesia
We utilize the safest available anesthetic protocols to provide an added margin of safety, particularly for senior or high-risk patients. Throughout all anesthetic procedures, patients are continuously monitored using modern equipment that tracks vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen levels, and blood pressure.
In many cases, a pre-anesthetic blood profile is recommended to evaluate cardiovascular, respiratory, and overall health prior to the procedure. Pre-anesthetic testing helps identify any underlying or pre-existing conditions that may require adjustments to anesthetic type or dosage, ensuring the safest possible experience for your pet.
Spay & Neuter
Spaying and neutering are common, safe surgical procedures that can help extend and improve your pet’s quality of life.
For female pets, spaying helps prevent:
- Unwanted pregnancy, reducing pet overpopulation
- Heat cycles and associated behaviors
- Potentially life-threatening uterine infections (pyometra)
- Mammary and uterine cancers
For male pets, neutering helps reduce:
- Aggression and dominance behaviors
- Roaming tendencies, which also helps reduce overpopulation
- Territorial urine marking
- The risk of hormone-related cancers
Surgery
All surgical procedures are performed in a sterile, fully equipped surgical suite using modern anesthesia and advanced cardiac and respiratory monitoring equipment.
Our surgical instruments are thoroughly sterilized using an autoclave before and after each procedure. Maintaining a sterile environment significantly reduces the risk of infection and minimizes the need for post-operative antibiotics in routine procedures.
Your pet’s comfort is our highest priority. While hospitalized, patients receive injectable pain medications and are closely monitored to ensure appropriate pain control. When needed, oral pain medications are prescribed for at-home care to support a smooth and comfortable recovery.
